I made this for a family friend. I made sure it had a lot of pockets for Ipad, comfortable shoes, extra makeup, and anything else that will be needed on the big day. I had fun practicing the recessed zipper and using my new quilting pins.I enjoy creating something special for the special people in my life.
It always feels so good when you finish a project. When I really get into something, I tend to spread out throughout the house (kitchen counters are the right height for pinning, rotary cutting and laying out pieces,the dining room table are perfect for cutting big and wide pieces and of course there is always the sewing counter buried under stuff). So I always try to clean up everything, including sweeping the floors to get all the loose threads and dropped pins, before starting the next item. It definately adds to the sense of accomplishment to have everything tidy and put away (plus DH likes a clean slate once in a while,instead of being buried under all my cra....
I just finished the latest project, but you have to wait to see the finished pictures because it is a gift. I had fun making it. I was able to practice recessed zippers, I also got to play with my new clips ,using them instead of pinning-saves time and makes less holes and distortions in special occasion material.
Blessed with being an at home mom of 4 for the past 24 years. I'm starting a new chapter of life as a part-time empty nester as the youngest is off to college. Spending more time creating and sewing.
